Scientology Volunteers Clean and Revive Czech Cities

Volunteer Ministers of the Scientology Church Led forty Public Service Projects Throughout the Czechia in the month of October

From the capital city to the country’s second-largest city, volunteers turn moral principles and care into visible social impact.

Czech Republic — October 31, 2025 — During the month, the VMs of the Church of Scientology launched efforts in cities throughout the Czech Republic to clean up parks and streets, support community organizations, and renew a stronger sense of community in 4 major cities — Prague; Brno; Plzeň; and Pelhřimov.

In just one month, they completed 40+ initiatives, harnessing hundreds of volunteer hours in environmental and social welfare action based on L. Ron Hubbard’s “The Way to Happiness”, the universal moral code authored by L. Ron Hubbard.

Collective Effort, Measurable Impact

Each week, fifteen to twenty participants worked together in 11+ community activities, logging over 100 hours of volunteer time — in addition to another 100 hours for a major cleanup in the city of Brno.

That single Brno effort collected 150 bags of trash, converting abandoned grounds into functional green space. In Pilsen, volunteers tackled an abandoned forest site left in unsanitary conditions after makeshift camps, clearing away dangerous waste with diligence and compassion.

“It’s not flashy labor,” a team member commented. “Someone has to step up. Every restoration is about restoring dignity — to our environment, our fellow citizens, and our own sense of purpose.”

Interfaith Solidarity

The period also featured practical ecumenical partnership. The team gathered and delivered clothing donations to a local Catholic aid organization, reflecting a commitment to unity that goes beyond religious affiliation.

Mr. Arjona, the Scientology’s envoy to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe, and UN, emphasized the universal value of such service:

“Assistance speaks every language. Whether partnering with a church, a municipal department, or a person facing hardship, our volunteers act on the principle that a stronger world is built by better people — news eu economy those who take initiative and show compassion.”

A Tradition of Service

Launched by L. Ron Hubbard in the seventies, the VM initiative equips people with real-world tools to offer help and stability in crisis or everyday challenges. Recognized worldwide for emergency response and social projects, these distinctive volunteers in yellow are currently serving in over 120 countries.

In the Czech Republic, their commitment to local action expands each year, blending effective organization with moral values. Their long-standing motto — “There’s always a solution” — inspires residents looking for meaningful opportunities to serve their communities.

Ethics in Daily Action

Several local VMs also distribute the The Way to Happiness during their activities. Designed as a secular moral guide, it contains twenty-one guidelines supporting self-respect, truthfulness, and environmental responsibility — principles demonstrated through the team’s regular projects.

These modest yet steady efforts show how moral awareness and community involvement reinforce each other. “When people take personal responsibility, the world improves,” said Arjona.

Community Recognition and Ongoing Impact

Local authorities in multiple Czech cities have commended the Volunteer Ministers’ consistent efforts. Their visible, hands-on presence — whether cleaning pathways to caring for green spaces — has motivated residents to join or start their independent projects.

One participant captured the month succinctly: “No one else was stepping up — so we did.”

The Volunteer Ministers Program

The VM initiative of the Scientology Church is a international network providing help in daily life and crises. Founded by Hubbard, it trains people in basic skills of communication, organization, and emotional support, empowering them to help themselves and others.

From large-scale disaster relief to small neighborhood projects, Volunteer Ministers live by the belief that assistance is never out of reach.

What Is the Church of Scientology?

The Scientology Church is a contemporary religion established by L. Ron Hubbard in 1952. It teaches that each person is a thetan, fundamentally good and capable of greater understanding and freedom through personal growth and learning.

Scientology centers are active across Europe, where official acknowledgment as a legitimate faith grows steadily. Through awareness campaigns, outreach, and social initiatives — such as initiatives for narcotics education, rights advocacy, literacy, and ethics — members of the Church work alongside people and organizations across beliefs to promote dignity and peace.
